This limited time exhibit focuses on Revolutionary Era America with particular emphasis on the war in the southern states. The Museum has four galleries with permanent and temporary exhibits about more than 400 years of Charlotte history. This is a self-guided tour allowing you to take as much time in any particular area of interest as you would like. Average visit time as 2-3 hours. Most appropriate for 3rd graders and up although all ages are welcome.
In addition, visitors can walk the grounds and explore the springhouse, kitchen and kitchen garden and the Siloam School (1920s era one room schoolhouse) included with regular admission. Entry to the 1774 Alexander Rock House (oldest original structure still standing in the region) is available as an optional upgrade guided tour of the house and is the only way to enter the house.
