Celebrate Public Lands Day a little early with a family-friendly 1-mile hike! After exploring the trails, head back to the nature center to create your own outdoor-inspired artwork using watercolors or collage. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Get ready to explore the wild side of nature with an off-trail adventure at Latta Nature Preserve! Kids ages 6–16 will hike off trail, build confidence, connect with new friends, and (yes!) get a little muddy along the way. It’s a great opportunity to unplug, move their bodies, and experience the outdoors in a whole new way.

Participants should wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, and bring a change of clothes and a water bottle.
